Bunny Booboo

Weeeeee so currently artist Amanda Parer placed large rabbits/art installations on the South Perth foreshore as part of the Fiesta 2015 Festival and it was mandatory that we paid them a visit. There were several rabbits around and they were all several meters tall and looked so cool brightly lit up at night. It is awesome to see such art pieces in Perth and how it can create a fun atmosphere in the area. Cant wait to see what else Perth has installed this year, so many hidden gems and new fun things are happening all the time.

Sculpture by the sea

Weeeeee its that time of the year again! Sculptures by the sea is in town and this year it brought more wonderful artists and art pieces to the shores of Cottesloe. I love sculptures by the sea because its a great way to see artist display their work in such a creative way. If you haven't gone yet I recommend to put it on your to do list before it ends. Can't wait to see what next year brings and maybe next time I should visit the Sculptures by the Sea over on the eastern states to see what their art style is like.

Art has no rules

The best thing about the internet is finding random things and discovering amazing talent. So today I wanted to dedicate this post to a few of my current favourite artists how I just simply adore their work and artistry.

First up is Mina Kwon a reknowned hip hop illustrator based in Korea. Her work is always filled with fun, energy and lots of colour. I discovered her on youtube channel ISAtv where they did a short doco on a few different boss ass woman and since then I have been obsessed with her work. Last month she recently collaborated with Forever21 with their Spongebob celebration collection so I recommend checking it out.

Next we have Shane Bowden. I stumbled upon his work on instagram, where a few people had styled their work space with his art pieces and I just fell in love with his designs. His work is so edgy and grungy/art pop-like but he mixes it up by adding high end themes which I just adore! I will definitely want to purchase his work in the near future, such timeless pieces.

Thirdly is local Perth illustrator Pippa Mcmanus. I have been in love with her artwork and style for so long its not funny. She has also worked with various people and businesses around Perth, so its always fun when you spot her artwork and murals on shop windows or around the city.

Lastly is a recent discovery and he goes by the name of Aaron Favaloro. His illustrations are simply adorable and so sleek. I love how he captures fashion into such beautiful cartoon life-likes. They remind of me of little bobble heads, but it works so well. It is so refreshing to see fashion illustration presented in a quirky way and I cant wait to see what Aaron brings in 2015.

Runway For a Cause

Another day, Another Event

So if you know me you would know that I am usually always volunteering and helping our at events, launches, functions, PR campaigns and everything else in between. I enjoy helping others and this weekend was no different. I had the opportunity to help friends out at another fashion event and after helping at a fair few of these in the past and holding one last year, fashion events are starting to feel routine. No doubt I do love these types of fashion events and the stress levels are different each event but they do get similarly repetitive. However this event was to solely raise money for the Princess Margaret Hospital so I thought I would lend a helping hand. So 10 hours later, sore feet and tired eyes, as the cliche says 'its all for a good cause'

Perth Runway for a Cause was held at Coventry Village and showcased various WA and local designers over three events; Student designers/Beachwear, Ready to Wear and Evening Gowns. They also had a raffle draw and a silent auction table where you could purchase some sweet as goodies like a signed cricket ball from Mitchell Johnson and some amazing pieces from Jonte, Alex and Vera, A Chanting and Arbonne to name a few. Showcase designers included;

Overall it was a successful event raised just over $8400 for PMH. Lets hope that people keep donating and hosting charity events such as these because who can hate anything that's for a good cause.
